Queer History of Prague

Queer people were always present, yet our history is often overlooked and pushed to the sidelines. And while the stories of Stonewall and the AIDS epidemic are starting to get recognized, queer history of smaller countries, like Czechia, is often under-researched and forgotten.

So let’s explore how queer people started to publicly organize in the 1920s, fail to reform the state in the 1930s and how our elders lived under the watchful eye of the secret police during the rule of the communist party
